Warning - Cold Caller Scam

We have received some phone calls for people alerting us to the fact that a “Computer Support Company” called Megabytes has been cold calling people in the area, asking them to log onto their computer as they have detected serious viruses on your computer or your connections are affecting neighbours. Should you receive such a call, simply hang up. It is a scam that is very prominent at the moment and has been reported on TV and in the newspapers.  We never cold call, nor are we affiliated with this company. They use a name of a company close to the area they are dialling to try and give themselves some creditability.

If you have had this call and given the company payment please contact your card provider as soon as possible to report the matter and they will advise you how to proceed.
